Where To Access The App
Worklog Analytics Pro is available in two Jira surfaces.

Open Apps > Worklog Analytics Pro in Jira to access the complete analytics experience.

Add the Worklog Analytics Pro gadget to a Jira dashboard when you want a compact snapshot for daily or weekly monitoring.

Quick Start
- Open the app from Apps > Worklog Analytics Pro.
- Choose a date range.
- Select one or more projects, users, or groups if needed.
- Open advanced filters for exclusions, labels, capacity, and cost assumptions.
- Click Fetch Worklogs.
- Review the results across the four tabs.
Filters And Settings
The left sidebar controls what data is included in the report.
Date Range
You can choose a quick preset or a custom date range.
- Use a short range for weekly reviews.
- Use a longer range for monthly or quarterly trends.
- Use a custom range for audits or billing review.
Projects
Use the project filter to include only the Jira projects you want to analyze.
Users
Use the user filter to focus on specific contributors, teams, or departments.
Groups
Use Jira groups when you want to analyze a functional team or permission-based cohort.
Advanced Filters
- Excluded users: remove specific people from the analysis.
- Excluded projects: ignore work from selected projects.
- Excluded groups: remove entire Jira groups from the result set.
- Fields: include additional Jira fields in detailed tables and grouping options.
- Labels: filter issues by one or more Jira labels.
- Capacity: define planned hours per user per day for utilization metrics.
- Weekends: include Saturdays and Sundays in capacity calculations when relevant.
- What-if rate: enter an hourly cost to estimate worklog cost.
Full App Tabs
Summary
The Summary tab gives a high-level view of the selected worklogs.
Typical KPIs include Logged Hours, Active Contributors, Remaining Capacity, Capacity Utilization, Average Hours per Issue, and Total Cost.
- Daily trend: logged time by day.
- Completion rate by type: completion percentage by issue type.
- Time by project: distribution of hours across projects.
Use this tab for team check-ins, sprint or weekly review, capacity planning, and executive summaries.
Timesheet
The Timesheet tab is the main pivot-style analysis view.
- By Time Period: analyze logged time by day, week, month, or quarter.
- Project x User Matrix: compare how people and projects intersect.
Key controls include Group by, Filter, Sum by, All dates / Worklog dates, and metric modes such as Hours, Worklogs, Ownership, and Cost.
- Which projects consumed the most time this month?
- Who is logging across too many projects?
- Which project depends too heavily on one contributor?
- Where are the highest cost concentrations?
Additional actions include export, print, logging work, and drilldowns to inspect the worklogs behind a value.
Time Entry Log
The Time Entry Log tab is a detailed audit trail of individual worklogs.
- Verify who logged time.
- Check issue descriptions and comments.
- Review labels, issue types, or statuses.
- Spot inconsistent or incomplete worklog entries.
Built-in tools include free-text search, filters for project, contributor, issue type, status, and description presence, plus export and print actions.
If additional Jira fields are configured, they can appear as extra columns in this table.
Workload
The Workload tab helps you review how effort is distributed across people and projects.
- Overloaded contributors
- Underutilized contributors
- Projects with concentrated ownership
- Context switching across too many projects
- Resource balance and delivery risk
Use this tab during staffing, planning, and delivery review conversations.
Jira Dashboard Gadget
The gadget provides a compact, action-oriented view of worklogs for a selected date preset.
- Today
- This week
- Last 7 days
The gadget can show values as hours, percentage, or cost when a what-if rate is configured.
- Review available capacity when capacity is configured.
- See focus projects for the selected period.
- Click time cells to drill into the underlying worklogs.
- Log work directly from the gadget.
Use the gadget when you want visibility without opening the full app.
Exporting And Printing
The app supports several output formats from supported views.
- CSV
- Excel
- JSON
- Printable report
Exports reflect the current filters and visible data, so confirm your date range and filters before downloading.
Logging Work From The App
In supported views, use Log work to create a Jira worklog without leaving the app.
You will typically enter:
- Issue key
- Time spent
- Start date and time
- Optional comment
This is useful when you are reviewing worklogs and want to correct or add entries immediately.
Common Use Cases
Weekly Team Review
- Set the date range to the current or previous week.
- Filter to the relevant team or project.
- Check Summary for hours, capacity, and trends.
- Use Timesheet to see where time went.
- Use Workload to spot imbalance or concentration risk.
Audit And Compliance Review
- Set the date range for the reporting period.
- Open Time Entry Log.
- Search and filter by project, contributor, issue type, or status.
- Review comments and missing detail.
- Export the result for follow-up.
Resource Planning
- Enter a capacity value in advanced filters.
- Optionally set a what-if hourly rate.
- Filter to the team or project portfolio you want to review.
- Use Summary and Workload to assess utilization and risk.
Cost Review
- Enter a what-if hourly rate.
- Fetch worklogs for the relevant date range.
- Use Summary for total estimated cost.
- Use Timesheet matrix or period view to see where cost is concentrated.
Notes And Limitations
- Cost values are estimates based on the hourly rate you enter in the app.
- Capacity metrics appear only when a capacity value is provided.
- The dashboard gadget uses preset date ranges rather than a fully custom date picker.
- Results depend on the worklogs and issue data available in Jira for the selected filters.
- If no data appears, expand the date range or relax one or more filters.
